Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid – Albert Einstein

Hi! We are two neurodivergent authors, trying to figure out exactly what we are doing, and how not to say the wrong thing. Publishing our first books has meant navigating a brand new industry with a whole new set of rules. Every month we will explore our processes, thoughts and feelings around a range of topics, from what we are writing, reading, listening to and watching, to our biggest social disasters, parenting wins and losses, and plans for how exactly we are going to manage to leave the house. Like our phone calls that inevitably go for 90 minutes and with 391 different tangents, The Overshare will be a little bit awkward, a little bit serious, and a little bit funny, all rolled into one. We’d love you to join us. It will go out once a month, on a Friday. First edition due May 7.

A little bit about us

Kay Kerr is a former journalist and newspaper editor, now freelance writer, based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. She was writing the first draft of her first novel, Please Don’t Hug Me, when she got her autism diagnosis. It gave her a different framework to understand her life and past experiences, and has changed her life for the better in so many ways. Her second novel, Social Queue, is due out in late 2021, so Kay is in the midst of editing, writing new things, parenting, and running a writing group for autistic teenagers. You can find out more at kaykerr.com or follow her on Instagram @kaykerr_ or Twitter @kaymariek
